Yes, in theory there might be, but they do work for almost any platform, so before reporting it please check that the problem persists with a completely fresh checkout from CVS, without using VPATH, and with GNU make in case you are using your vendor's make. Still have a problem? Well, go ahead and post it to the developer list, but as a developer you're exected to do most of the debugging yourself ;-)
